What I have done so far

Word Zoo

My first fullstack project, co-developing an iOS App using Swift. I learnt many problem solving techniques while fixing the bugs that inevitably arise when designing & implementing an app from scratch.
I gained valuable first-hand experience in UI/UX, backend server communication and project management; all while programming an application that needs to work seamlessly on all device sizes.

MyTutor

Over the three years I tutored, I really enjoyed teaching subjects such as Biology and Chemistry A Level to a wide range of people. I learnt how to communicate complex concepts in a simple way to ensure students understand. It's very satisfying improving the confidence of students and I now have over 130 5-star reviews. You can read the feedback here.

Discovery Summer

I worked with the Course Director, in a fast-paced environment, to ensure that the running of the centre was efficient. I resolved conflicts between students and issues between staff in a professional manner.
As a member of the Senior Management Team I took daily meeting minutes and became the first port-of-call when the Course Director was unavailable. I was the designated Welfare Officer, helping ensure the welfare of all course participants, providing pastoral support and where necessary First Aid. The job demanded excellent time-management skills, the ability to prioritise and to manage people and delegate tasks efficiently.

The Edge Effect

During my first year at the University of Bristol studying Biology, I applied my programming skills to show that the sampling method used in a scientific paper was statistically biased. I coded a simple simulation showing graphically that, after random 100,000 samples, the center region of the sample area was disproportionately sampled and therefore over-represented.
This is a clear example of my creative thinking, problem solving and technological design skills. This is the kind of innovation I hope to utilise in future projects.

Felt girl

During high school I learnt entrepreneurial skills and seized a gap in the market - starting my own company selling textiles to customers worldwide. I learnt how to grow a business, negotiate with suppliers, manage stock and optimise cashflow. I have kept this entrepreneurial spirit alive today.
